Description : LEH, NUBRA, PANGONG LAKE, TSOMOIRI LAKE

(LADAKH – Leh, the capital is situated at a height of 3513M. Ladakh,in Northern most part of India has an elevation ranging up to 6 to 7 Thousand Meter. Snow-capped Mountains, the beautiful Lake of Pagong and mesmerizing TSO Moriri Lake is part of this exotic land. Buddhismis practiced in various Monasteries. Almost all these are on Hilltop giving background to the villages situated underneath.)

Day 01:DELHI – ARRIVAL

You will be given a traditional Welcome in Delhi after clearing Immigration and Customs and collection of Baggage.
Transfer to pre-booked Hotel.
Evening: Your first experience of Indian cuisine with our Executive.
Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 02: DELHI-LEH (BY AIR)

Have your first Breakfast in the Hotel.
Transfer to Domestic Airport.
Early Morning, Leave for Leh.
Upon Arrival in Leh, your will be greeted by our Ladakhi Representative and Transfer to the pre-booked Hotel.
It is imperative to relax to overcome high altitude fatigue as Leh is situated at an height of 3500M.
EVENING: Walk up to SHANTI STUPA – built by Japanese in 1985 with aid from the Japanese Government to promote peace and spread Buddhism across the world. It is located at Changspa, on the hilltop, and was inaugurated by Dalai Lama in 1985. The State of Art attracts lot of tourists.

Day 03: LEH-SIGHTSEEING

International, Indian Breakfast will be served in the Hotel Visit the following Monuments:
LEH FORT:
This 16th-century Tsemo (Victory) Fort is a landmark that crowns the top of Palace Ridge. One of the two 15th Century Temple enshrines an 8m-tall gold-faced Maitreya.
Leh Palace is a former royal palace has a unique resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. Built by King Sengge Namgyal in the 17th century, the palace was abandoned when Dogra forces took control of Ladakh in the mid 19th century, and the royal family moved to Stok Palace.
Visit the LEH MARKET.
Return to Hotel for Lunch. After Lunch, Visit:
STOK PALACE:
Ladakh’s former royal family moved into this Palace after Dogra Palace too control of Ladakh. Vaguely potala-like and with wobbly, colorful window frames, the palace is photogenic.

Day 04: SHEY, THIKSEY & HEMIS

Visit the following Monasteries:
SHEY. Situated on a hillock 15 km up streams from Leh, it was once the residence of the royal family. A 7.5 m high copper statue of Buddha, plated with gold, and the largest of its kind, is installed here.
THIKSEY. 19 km from Leh, spectacularly sited, Thiksey is one of the largest and architecturally most impressive gompas. There are several temples in this gompa, containing images, stupas and wall paintings of Buddha which are exquisite.
HEMIS. 40 km from Leh, it is the wealthiest, best known and biggest gompa of Ladakh. Its popularity stems from the mojor annual festival held here in summer. The festival is in honour of Guru Padma Sambhav’s birth anniversary. It also has the largest Thankha in Ladakh, which is unfurled, once in 12 years (next in 2004) Hemis was built in 1630 during the reign of Sengge Namgyal, an illustrious ruler of Ladakh.

Day 05: LEH-LAMAYURU-LEH – (140Km. Round Trip)

Lamayuru. The oldest holy site in Ladakh, it was a bon shrine prior to the advent of Buddhism. Also known as Yung Drung (Swastika) it is sited on a high promontory overlooking the village and valley. For sheer spectacle value no other Gompa can match Lamayuru. Lunch in Local Restaurant
Thereafter proceed to LEH via ALCHI

Day06: LEH-PANGONG LAKE (150 Km – 5 Hrs)

Breakfast in the Hotel
To-day, you will drive through Changla Pass at an altitude of 5500M to reach Pagong Lake. The Village below Changla Pass gives a look of divine place. We will stop at a scenic place for Lunch after we cross the pass. One of the place – summer pasture land is of the yaks.

Day 07: PANGONG LAKE – LEH

Breakfast at the Camps
The Calm water and serene environment will invite you for a re-visit to Pagong Lake.
Have an early Lunch and embark on a journey to Leh
After Check-in, you will be Free to absorb the trip.
Take a cool walk to the town on your own

Day 08: LEH – NUBRA VALLEY (124 Km – 5 Hrs)

Breakfast at the Hotel
Start your Day early enough so that you arrive in time at another Valley via the World Highest Motorable road (5602 Mt) Khardungla pass. The Nubra Valley is awaiting your arrival for your stay at the Camps.
Evening at leisure to enable you to re-collect your thoughts of the journey. Feel Free to walk through the first Village of Deskit.

KHARDUNGLA PASS: Located at 5602M is the highest motorable road in the world. The stops at Check point will allow you to admire the surroundings on both sides of pass There are two checkpoints on the both sides of the pass..

Day 09: NUBRA SIGHT SEEING.

Breakfast will be served in the Tents.
DESKIT VILLAGE: The Gompa located on a Hilltop will give you a spectacular view of Village down. This is said to have been 500 years old. Visit the Market with row of shops selling Gift items and many more.
DESKIT GOMPA: Yet another Old Gompa of 15420 AD built during reign of King DRAGSPA. A Festival takes place on 20th and 21st day of the 12th month of Tibetan Calendar 100 Monks reside in this Gompa and take care of rituals.
HUNDAR VILLAGE: This Village is surrounded by lot of Trees and gives you a sign of greenery. A ruined Fort is above this small Monastery. One can take Camel Safari (Double Hump Bactrian camels) for pleasure and see places around.
SAMSTANLING GOMPA: About 50 Monks reside in this Gompa, which is 132 years old. The foundation was laid by Lama Tsultrim Nima.

Day 10: NUBRA – LEH.

You will once again drive past KHARDUNGLA Pass for your backward journey to Leh.
After Check-in and relax for one two hours, we will give you a new experience of Tea – LADAKHI Tea with Family.

Day 11: LEH – SHAM VALLEY – 160 Km including Visits

Another Day, a different experience while you drive to Magnetic Hills, where Car parked in neutral gear goes upwards due to the magnetic effect. Visit includes the Village Nimmu which is on the confluence of Zanskar and Indus Valley. you will also visit Alchi, Likir, Basgo, and Gurudwara Pather Sahib. Lunch in a village
Evening – Return to Leh

Day 12: LEH – TSOMORIRI LAKE

After early breakfast
The Road to TSO Moriri Lake passes parallel to Indus River right up to Upshi. You will also have an opportunity to visit Lake of Thatsang Karu and Namshang La Pass before you reach your destination. Access to the eastern side of the lake is prohibited due to its closeness from the Chinese border.
After Arrival, check-in at the Guest House/Camps
Afternoon: Karzok Village is located above the Lake with enviable height of 4500M. This is one of the highest populated Villages in the world.

Day 13:TSOMORIRI LAKE – LEH

Breakfast in the Camps
To experience the beauty of the Lake, visit once again and absorb the beauty of Lake and the environment for rest of your life.
Lunch will be served prior to your heading back to Leh.

Day 14: LEH TO DELHI BY AIR.
