DAY 01: BOMBAY-CHENNAI (By Flight)

Upon Arrival at Chennai Airport, You will be greeted by our Representative and transfer to the Hotel

14:00 – City sightseeing of Chennai will take you to the National Art Gallery and Museum which has a selection of ancient paintings of almost all schools as well as a section devoted to modern Art. Also Fort St. George, Once a stronghold of the British, the Fort Museum, St. Mary’s church the oldest Anglican Church. Drive along the Marina – this popular promenade and beach, one of the finest in India. Visit the San Thome Cathedral, supposed to have been erected by St. Thomas, the Mylapore Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and the Victoria Technical institute.

DAY 02: CHENNAI –KANCHIPURAM – MAHABALIPURAM)

After a sumptuous Breakfast at the Hotel, you will be taken on extended tour of Kanchipuram – The golden city, 85 km, west of Madras, was the capital of successive Hindu Dynasties. It has three Great temples of Vishnu and Shiva built by the Pallava Kings.


Kanchipuram is known for its Silk and hence visit some shops Lunch will be served in one of the Local Restaurant. Post Lunch, Proceed to Mahablipuram

DAY 03: MAHABLIPURAM

Post leisurely Breakfast

Visit the Shore temple (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE) which is devoted to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, sited on the Bay of Bengal with the gateway from the Western side away from the sea.

Day 04: MAHABALIPURAM – PONDICHERRY (100 Km – 02 Hrs)

DAY 05: PONDICHERRY – Chidambaram

Post Breakfast, Leave by Car for Chidambaram. Visit Nataraj Temple, which is located in the center of Chidambaram. The temple was built over 1,000 years ago during the Chola dynasty. The word “Nataraj” means “Lord of the Dance” – Shiva – the creator of the universe.


After visit of Temple, proceed to Gangaikondacholapuram (50Km – 01Hr) was established as a capital city by the Chola ruler Rajendra I (1012-44). Visit Brihadiswara Temple, which is a large Siva temple that can be seen from a distance because of its enormous 55m high vimana (tower over the altar).


One cannot miss Darasuram which is a small town near Kumbakonam known for the Airavatesvara Temple built by Rajaraja Chola II. This temple is a storehouse of art and architecture. The temple has some exquisite stone carvings.


Proceed onwards to Tanjore.

DAY 06: TANJORE – TRICHY (57 Km 1,30hrs)

After Breakfast, City sightseeing of Tanjore visiting – the magnificent Brahadeeswara temple, where the shade of the tower (gopuram or vimanam) will not fall on the ground. The second largest monolithic sculpture, Nandi (Bull) can be found in the portal of the shrine. The Royal palace complex houses an important library and museum.


After Visit of the Temple – proceed to TRICHY

(Trichy – May have been a capital of the early Cholas in the 3rd century BC. It passed through the hands of the Pallavas, medieval Cholas, Pandyas, Delhi Sultanate and Vijayanagar before the Madurai Nayaks brought it to prominence, making it a capital in the 17th century and building its famous for its Rock Fort Temple.)


AFTERNOON– Arrive TRICHY & CHECK-IN at the Hotel

07: TRICHY to Madurai by Car

DAY 08: MADURAI

MORNING: Thirumalai Nayak Palace: About 1.5 Kms from the Meenakshi temple, this palace was built in 1636 by the ruler whose name it bears. The imposing edifice is famous for the “Stuccowork” on its domes and impressive arches. The Sorgavilasam (Celestial Pavilion), measuring 75m x 52m, constructed entirely of brick and mortar without the support of a single rafter or girder, is a marvel of indo-Saracenic architect.


EVENING: Visit 1000-pillared Meenakshiamman temple famous for its Court of Thousand Pillars, built in 1560 A.D and visit to the temple to witness the famous night ceremony when the Temple bronze of Lord Siva is carried to the bed chamber of Goddess Parvathy to the accompaniment of religious prayers and music.

DAY 09: MADURAI-BANGALORE BY AIR

Airport for your flight to Bangalore

Arrive. Meet at Airport & And proceed onwards to Mysore by Car, en route visit the old city of Srirangapatna, which was briefly the capital of the Mysore state during the rule of Tipu Sultan. Located just 8 miles (14 km) from Mysore on an island in the Kaveri River, Srirangapatna is home to the Dariya Daulat Palace (Summer Palace), set amid the gorgeous gardens of Daria Daulat Bagh.

DAY 10: MYSORE SIGHTSEEING & VISIT TO TIRUMAKUDALU

Leave by Car for Tirumakudalu Narsipura – (29 Km south east of Mysore) – It is a place of religious prominence. The Gunja Narasimha Swamy temple on the right bank of the Kaveri river, is a massive complex belonging to the Vijayanagara period. The image of Narasimha in the sanctum sanctorum has a weighing balance with a twig with seed of the Gunja (botanical name-Abrus precatorius) tree & hence is called Gunja Narasimha Swamy.


Continue sightseeing of Mysore visiting Mysore Palace (Amba Vilas Palace). This former residence of Wodeyar Maharaja of Mysore has been converted into a museum that displays paintings, jewelry, royal costumes & other items that were once owned by Wodeyars. Hear stories about the royal families who ruled Mysore for more than seven centuries! Impressive 3-story granite palace boasts several important halls and chambers under pink marble domes and expansive arches.

Day 11: MYSORE – HASSAN (56 Km – 01,30Hrs)

You will be driven to Hassan after a delightful Breakfast

After freshen up Visit HELEBID (also pronounced as Hale’beedu) literally means ‘the old city’. Beedu also stands for layout or a place of human habitat. The Hoysalas ruled this city for about 150 years. Then it was sacked by the armies of Malik Kafur in the early 14th century, after which it fell into a state of disrepair and ignore.


Proceed onwards to BELUR (16 Km) – The temples of Belur and Halebid are best known for their south Indian architecture. The temples at both these places are built by renowned architect Jakkanna Acharya (Amarashilpi Jakanaacharya). The temples are carved with scripts of Hindu mythology.

DAY 12: HASSAN – SHARAVANBELGOLA-BANGALORE

After Breakfast,

Leave by Car for Shravanabelagola – (The hill of Shravanabelagola, 85Km from Mysore in the state of Karnataka, is a noted place of pilgrimage for the Jains. The large hill, also called Vindhyagiri or Per-kalbappu, is 3347 feet above sea level. A flight of 614 steps, finely chiseled into the granite of the mountain, leads to the summit, where stands an open court and the great statue of Sri Gomatheswar. Shravanabelagola means ‘the monk on the top of the hill’ and hermits, mystics and ascetics have resided here since at least the 3rd century BC)


If one cannot climb 614 Staircase, then can take help of Pal Bearer to go up toTemple.


Proceed onwards to (Bangalore {Bengaluru) The city of gardens with the beautiful and well laid out Lalbagh, which has century old trees, fountains, lotus pools, terraces and an assortment of tropical and subtropical herbs and plants.
