Day 01: Delhi by Air & Surface to Agra

Breakfast in the Hotel Leave by Flight for Leh Arrive, Leh – Transfer to Hotel Relax in your Room to adjust the high altitude. EVENING: Walk up to SHANTI STUPA – To promote the World Peace, the Japanese, in collaboration with the Government constructed Shanti Stupa for promoting World Peace and fulfill him ambition of spreading Buddhism across the world in 1985. Located on the Hilltop at CHANGSPA, this was inaugurated by Dalai Lama. It is located at Changspa, on the hilltop, and was inaugurated by Dalai Lama in 1985. Breakfast in the Hotel Sightseeing of Leh comprising of LEH FORT: One of the Land mark of Leh, one can see this from every corner of Leh. Built in 16th Century, this is a TSEMO (Victory) Fort, crowns the top of Palace Ridge. Visit also includes, TSEMO Gompa beneath the Fort consisting of two little 15th-century temple buildings, one enshrining in 8m-tall gold-faced Maitreya . Leh Palace is modelled on Potala Palace in Lhasa is a former royal palace overlooking the Ladakhi Himalayan town of Leh. Palace was built by King Sengge Namgyal in the 17th century. Due to Occupational forces of Dogra regime, the royal family moved to Stok Palace. Visit the LEH MARKET. Return to Hotel for Lunch. After Lunch, Visit: STOK PALACE The Royal family were resident of this Palace until they were stripped of their power in 1846.The colorful window frames are the highlights of this Palace. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Leh SHAM VALLEY TREK On this trek there are several villages among the richest in Ladakh. This trekking is known as Sham valley or Apricot valley trek. Arrive at Likir monastery, where the track to Likir monastery meets in between Saspol – Bazgo, it is hardly an hour walks from the road. Through the Indus valley and the ancient kingdom of Sham, we will discover the main Ladakhi monasteries and the wonderful sites surrounding them: Shey, Thikse, Hemis, Spituk, Phyang, Lamayuru and Alchi are all accessible by road, and Temisgang, Ridzong and Likir line the trekking route. This itinerary is of moderate difficulty and the path does not rise above 4500m. The trail crosses numerous villages where the people have kept their Tibetan ways and customs.Day 04: LEH – LIKIR (2 Hrs. drive)
Breakfast in the Hotel Drive from Leh to Likir Monastery. LIKIR. Founded in the 11th century and rededicated to a different monastic order in the 15th century, its earlier Gompa was destroyed in a fire. The present Gompa dates back to the 18th century. Skilled craftsmen producing excellent Thankas, earthen pots and carved wooden folding stools, live here in the village. Majestically situated, Likir commands a spectacular view. A magnificent giant Jupiter tree, one of the few survivors of its species, stands in the courtyard After visiting the monastery & Likir village, TREK STARTS. Start ascending towards a small pass Pobe La, arrive at Sumdo village cross the river and leaving Sumdo on the right side, continue in the valley for about an hour and finally reach at the summit of the CharastseLa. It is only half an hour to Yangtang from Charatse la summit. Overnight stay at the TentsDay 05: YANGTHANG – HEMIS SHUKPACHAN (3600m) (04 – 05 Hrs).
Breakfast in the Tents Proceed to Wulle valley, very close 15 minutes only, then ascent for one hour to Sermanchan La and then descent towards Hemis Shukpachen a big village. Here Cedar is found in plenty, hence the name of the village. There is a beautiful Gompa. Overnight stay at the TentsDay 06: HEMIS SHUKPACHEN – TINGMOSGAM.
Breakfast in the Tents After crossing Hemis Shukpachen there is flat land, then steep descent, follow right side climb a steep slope to the summit of the Meptekla. Descent for half an hour and you are in Ang village. A path leads to north towards Shyok valley. From Ang we will proceed to Tingmosgam village. It is richest valley in Ladakh. Apricots, Apples & Nuts are in plenty houses are beautiful. A motorable road links Tingmosgam with Nurla. Overnight stay at the Tents END OF TREKINGDay 07: TINGMOSGAM – LAMAYURU – ALCHI – LEH.
Breakfast in the Hotel After the Trek, Drive towards LEH via Lamayuru. Located on a Plateau, it overlooks the Village and Valley. Lamayuru has a unmatched value which no Gompa has. Site is considered as the oldest holy site in Ladakh.. ALCHI GOMPA: Approximately 2 hour drive from Leh, this is situated on the bank of the River Indus and dates back to thousand years. Thousands of Buddha’s Miniature Paintings can be seen on its wall. However, the attractions are 3 large size images made out clay and painted brightly are its star attractions. It is not a religious Center anymore. Overnight stay at the Hotel in LehDay 08: LEH – NUBRA VIA KHARDUNGLA PASS.
Breakfast in the Hotel An early morning drive to Nubra Valley via the World Highest Motorable road(5602M) KHARDUNGLA pass. You will be mesmerized by the view of Nature at its best. By Noon, you will arrive and Check-in at the Tents. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at the Tents in NubraDay 9: NUBRA SIGHT SEEING.
Breakfast in the Tents Visit the following Monasteries: DESKIT VILLAGE: Nubra Valley’s main Village -Deskit is the headquarter. Visit the small market in a row. You can have a spectacular view from the top of Gompa on the Hilltop. DESKIT GOMPA: Yet another grand Gompa was founded by Lama Sherab Zangpo of Stok in about 1420 AD during the reign of King Dragspa. This is managed by 100 monks who are residing inside. A Festival GUSTOR is held on 20th and 21st days of 12th Month of Tibetan calendar. HUNDAR VILLAGE: A small Village where one can also, has lot of trees. Village has a small Monastery and the ruined Fort above the Village It has a small monastery and ruined fort above the village. One can enjoy a walk or Camel Safari (Double Hump Bactrian Camels). SAMSTANLING GOMPA: This Monastery is 132 years old and now about 50 Monksare the resident. This Monastery was founded by Lama Tsultrim Nima. Overnight stay at Nubra Hotel or CampDay 10: NUBRA – LEH.

After early breakfast To-day, you Leave Visit TSO MORIRI Lake. You drive will be along the Indus River upto UPSHI. En route you will come across a beautiful Lake called THATSANG KARU. You will also drive over NAMSHANG LA PASS to reach your destination. Access to this Lake from Eastern side is prohibited due to close vicinity of Chinese Border.
